Little Rock animal control officers came across some familiar pygmy goats this week that weren’t supposed to be living in the South End neighborhood anymore after their owner lost a court case regarding them last year.

Lisa TwoRivers appeared in Pulaski County Circuit Court in February 2008 and was fined $1 for violating a city ordinance that prohibits keeping any goats within 300 feet of other residences. (more…)

Dying woman tries to find homes for 32 cats

OPELIKA, Ala. — Five veterinary clinics in eastern Alabama received 32 surprises in the last week: Healthy cats in containers and carriers, along with notes from an anonymous donor saying she is dying from cancer.

Cupcake watched as her family packed up their belongings and moved out of their rented Bryant home. She waited for them to come back for her, but they never did.

The owner of the house discovered her and let her outside, where she had never ventured, according to neighbors, during the storms Hurricane Ike hauled across Arkansas last week. (more…)

Springdale shelter broken into; kittens dead

SPRINGDALE — Police from two cities are investigating a break-in at Springdale Animal Services that left 10 kittens dead and 10 missing.

Nothing was stolen in the break-in at 321 Randall Wobbe Road, which was discovered at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, said Lindsey Droste, director of animal services. (more…)
